Inert gases are characterised for being found naturally in the atmosphere and are also highly environmentally friendly as they do not produce the greenhouse effect or harm the ozone layer. They are nonconductive gases colourless, odourless insipid and non-corrosive, and can be used at standard temperatures with materials such as nickel steel, stainless steel, copper, brass or bronze.
The inert gas extinguishing systems offer great flexibility for adaptation to all action and trigger systems currently available on the market, even allowing for combinations of several of them. It includes in its design protective elements against accidental discharges due to micro leaks, also allowing for checking and maintenance of all the critical elements which make up the installation.
Inert gases are stored as compressed gas in high-pressure cylinders, so the space required for their storage will depend on the pressure and capacity.
Inert gas systems are designed for a cylinder filling pressure of 200/300 bar, which leads to savings in space and money. The systems can be installed in single or double lines.
The extinguishing method of inert gas systems is based on reducing the concentration of oxygen in the affected area, although in contrast to the CO2 systems, the IG-01 is safe for use in occupied areas while also maintaining excellent visibility during discharge.
The inert gas systems are made up of dielectric gases which are highly recommended for the protection of electric and electronic materials.
